Policy for the Prevention of Alcohol, Tobacco and Psychoactive Substance Use

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS OF LATIN AMERICA – SIGLA S.A.S-

SIGLA SAS establishes as one of its priorities the promotion of healthy lifestyles and work, through the implementation of actions of promotion, prevention, awareness and training aimed at preventing the adverse effects that the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine and psychoactive substances can generate on the health, well-being, work performance and safety of workers, contractors, clients, community and other interested parties.

Senior Management is committed to promoting safe and healthy work environments, allocating the necessary human, technical, financial, and other resources for the development of prevention activities, as well as complying with current Colombian legislation and other requirements applicable to the activities carried out by the organization. In this regard, SIGLA recognizes that problematic alcohol and psychoactive substance use is a factor that can affect people’s physical, mental, and psychomotor abilities and, therefore, generate risks to health, safety, and the proper performance of work activities.

Consequently, workers, contractors and other persons who carry out activities on behalf of SIGLA are prohibited from reporting to work or performing activities under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances that may impair their abilities or compromise their own safety or that of others.

Likewise, the consumption, possession, distribution, manufacture, sale, or supply of illicit psychoactive substances is prohibited on company premises, in vehicles, at work sites, operating locations, or any place where work activities are carried out on behalf of SIGLA. The consumption of alcoholic beverages during the workday or while performing work-related activities is also prohibited.

Workers have the responsibility to arrive and remain in suitable physical and mental condition throughout the workday to perform their duties safely, and to promptly report any condition that may affect their ability to carry out activities that pose risks to themselves, others, equipment, vehicles, infrastructure, or operations. This responsibility is especially important in activities that, by their nature, may compromise the safety of others.

In consideration of the activities carried out by SIGLA related to the operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems – UAS, the organization adopts and requires compliance with the operational safety requirements established in RAC 100, consequently, no person may act as a UAS operator, UAS pilot, UAS observer, or participate in a UAS operation under the following circumstances:

  1. Within 12 hours of consuming alcoholic beverages, while under the influence of alcohol; or
  2. While using or having used any psychoactive substance that impairs human faculties in their performance, in a way that may affect operational safety or endanger any person or infrastructure, or that generates problematic use of these substances.

Similarly, when a prescribed medication may produce effects that alter attention, coordination, perception, reaction time or other conditions necessary to safely perform a critical activity, the worker must follow medical recommendations and promptly report the situation when it may compromise the safety of the activity.

SAIL The company will develop activities to promote healthy lifestyles and work practices, raise awareness, provide training, and implement prevention programs for its employees, aimed at generating awareness of the effects and risks associated with the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, and psychoactive substances. These activities may include information on the guidance and support mechanisms available through the General Social Security System in Health, the EPS (Health Promoting Entity), the ARL (Occupational Risk Administrator), or other competent entities, with the purpose of facilitating the early identification of risk factors and promoting the timely seeking of support.

In order to contribute to the prevention of accidents, incidents, and health problems, SIGLA may implement, in accordance with current legislation and its internal procedures, evaluation mechanisms, screening, biological tests, and/or self-reporting tools randomly or when there are objective reasons related to safety, health, or the proper performance of work activities. The application of these measures must be carried out respecting the dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and protection of workers’ personal data, and observing applicable legal provisions.

The organization will promote a preventative culture that makes it easier for employees to seek guidance and access available support and rehabilitation services when they identify difficulties related to substance use. Requests for guidance or support will be treated with confidentiality and respect, without prejudice to the employee’s work and safety obligations. Participation in prevention activities or seeking guidance does not exempt employees from fulfilling their work, contractual, regulatory, and operational safety obligations.

Failure to comply with the provisions established in this policy may result in the corresponding administrative or disciplinary measures in accordance with current labor legislation, the employment contract, the Internal Work Regulations and other applicable rules and procedures, guaranteeing in all cases due process and the rights of the worker.

When a condition is identified that may represent an immediate risk to the person, third parties or operational safety, especially in activities related to UAS operations, SIGLA may adopt the necessary preventive measures to avoid the execution or continuation of the activity while the corresponding safety condition is determined.

This policy is mandatory for all employees and other applicable individuals and will be disseminated as part of SIGLA’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System and operational safety controls. Its content will be reviewed and updated when regulatory, organizational, or operational changes require it.
